Guitarists! I need to obtain some excellent and versatile distortion!?

Okay, friends. Here's the deal. I've been playing guitar for seven years and, like most guitarists, I AM TONE HUNGRY!!! I'm searching for a pedal and / or rackmount that's got some real pounding distortion. Something that will shake the ground like a massive infantry march and has a punch to match. Something very much like Richard Kruspe's distortion from Rammstein. I can't find out what he uses in his rig and I would badly like to know some kind of secret to the whole thing of getting such an Uber-Distortion. Anything to know about any company that has great industrial metal distortion and anything else to pair up with that, for further tone shaping control, would be very helpfull! I know alot of people have different opinions about what's good and what's bad but, please, any opinion on the subject matter would be incredibly appreciated! ...Currently, I'm working with EMG 81 pickups thru a Boss GT-8.

First of all you need a large tube amp. I use a Marshall JCM 900 100w Head. A Mesa, Crate, any other will work. Your processor is fine the way it is. Next you will need 2 speaker cab's, 1 with 4-12" and 1-15" bass cab. You need a crossover to cut the high end to the bass cab and the deep lows to the 12" cab. An active post power amp crossover is what you need. When setting up the tone in you processor find the distortion that you like that is just about there but not quite and then add an octovater to a 12 tone drop and not only will you have that crunch that you are looking for, you will feel it in your gut. You don't have to have the crossover but it added protection to your 4-12" from the low end, but the key to the rig is the 15" bass cab. You could also get a bass combo and utilize the stereo outs on your GT-8 and run separate lines to each combo, that works just as well.
