Pantyhose Stockings Blue
Wedding Hosiery?
I need some help finding out about hosiery to wear with my bridal gown. I usually don't wear pantyhose or stockings, but for this special occasion I decided to go elegant old school and actually buy a garterbelt with the nylons that attach. I'm also going to buy them for my bridesmaids as kind of a surprise gift for them to wear with their dresses. Since I don't know too much about garterbelts or the old style nylons, can any women offer me any tips on what is good, what brand to look for, and maybe give me some insight on what they are like to wear? My dress is traditional white and my bridesmaids will be wearing light blue dresses. I'm thinking my nylons should be really sheer white. Any links would be appreciated.
I would suggest checking out your local Victoria's Secrete shop. They will have a huge selection to choose from and will be able to fit you appropriately. You can buy the garter belt there and purchase your hose somewhere else if you like. I personally think that Dillards and Macey have a good selection and are reasonabley priced - however, they are more likely to be on sale at Victoria's Secrete.
If you have never worn a garter belt before I would suggest getting fitted for one. That way it will fit correctly. If it is so small it will be tight and uncomfortable and may ride up. If it is to large then your hose will droop and it may even chap you if it is really loose. The fitting is really simple and no need to be embarrassed.
I think really sheer white hose would be very appropriate. They also make them that are really sheer white but they have a bit of a shimmer to them. That is what I wore and I loved them. I would also suggest that you buy good hose and not just cheap hose, that way they will be more comfortable and you can wear them again for when you want to recreate you honeymoon!
