Sexy Color Suntan
OK, so why do Hooters girls wear pantyhose??
I personally find pantyhose very attractive and sexy, so I love the fact that Hooters girls wear them. I especially like the suntan color. Too bad for the socks and tennis shoes though!
But it seems that most people now-a-days don't like hose....Almost all women, based on questions/answers I see here, do not like them, and it seems like men are about 50/50.
So what's the appeal of the pantyhose for Hooters girls?
Maybe somday they'll wear sexy shoes with them!
From what I understand, the hosiery serves to purposes.
1. Cosmetic
2. Appropriate
As everyone has already outlined, the pantyhose are essentially flesh tone tights, and they serve several cosmetic purposes. They hide any imperfections of the girls legs, and give the appearance of longer and more shapely legs.
As for the appropriateness, this seems to stem back to even the era of Dukes of Hazzard. Catherine Bach, who played Daisy Duke was the first to make short shorts (Daisy Dukes) famous. However, the network was not going to allow her to wear them because they felt it might expose to much of her. So, the compromise was that she could wear the shorts, if she wore Flesh Toned Tights underneath to prevent too much of her body from being shown. Since Hooters is a Family restaurant, it is only right that the girls be clothed in a way as to not offend anyone eating there and not demean themselves.
Also, ever notice, there is never a girl there with a run in her hose? I saw one once get a run in her tights/hose because of the way it was caught on her shoe, and the minute she got it, her boss sent her in the back to change into a new pair. They want to make sure that the image is consistent.
